Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team that manufactures the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk for the United States Air Force. You will serve as the local SME for technical writing and guide inspectors across multiple shifts, reporting performance to leadership.

This role involves generating NCRs, Inspection Plans, FAIs, MRB dispositions, and ensuring writing aligns with customer/industry quality standards. U.S. citizenship and potential security steps apply.

Qualifications

• AS or BS in Quality, Technical Writing or related STEM, or 3+ years in manufacturing quality.
• Experience writing in manufacturing or quality operations is required.
• Ability to articulate technical product/process requirements.
• Interpret and revise documentation for consistency and efficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative problem solving.
• Self-driven with ability to deliver high-quality results globally.
• Willing to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and train inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain best practices for technical writing.
• Generate NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, MRB dispositions.
• Develop knowledge of customer/industry quality requirements.
• Facilitate controls to provide high-quality products on schedule.
• Primary contact for non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
• Support Saab values and a people-first culture.
