Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team manufacturing the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk aircraft. You will serve as local SME for technical writing, guide inspectors, and ensure NCRs, FAIs and MRB dispositions are accurate and timely.

You will collaborate across shifts, interpret complex documentation, and develop best practices for technical writing while supporting a high-quality product for the U.S. Air Force.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline OR 3 years’ related experience in a manufacturing quality role required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required.
• Ability to articulate technical product/process requirements in electro-mechanical assembly is required.
• Interpret and revise written documentation/work instructions for consistency and efficiency.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the local SME for technical writing and provide guidance/training for inspectors across multiple shifts
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership
• Identify common/repeated quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Develop best practices for technical writing and maintain them across the organization
• Generate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), Inspection/Control Plans, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and MRB dispositions
• Understand customer/industry quality requirements and apply them
• Support high-quality product delivery within schedule
• Serve as primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments
• Contribute to Saab’s people-first culture and values
• Take on other projects and tasks as assigned
