Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team manufacturing rear sections of the T-7A Redhawk aircraft for the U.S. Air Force. You will serve as the local SME for technical writing, guide inspectors, and oversee NCRs, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.

The role requires an AS degree in Quality/Technical Writing or related STEM field (or 3 years in a manufacturing quality role), plus strong written and verbal communication. U.S. citizenship is required; extended hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline OR 3 years’ related experience in a manufacturing quality role required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required
• Ability to interpret and revise written documentation / work instructions for consistency and efficient repetition is critical.
• Effective and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach to problem-solving
• Ability to be self-driven and deliver high-quality results across a global team
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the local SME for technical writing and provide guidance/training for inspectors across multiple shifts
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership
• Identify common/repeated quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
• Develop best practices for technical writing throughout the organization; maintain and update best practices as needed
• Responsible for technical writing assignments involving NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions
• Develop knowledge of quality requirements per customer/industry standards
• Facilitate controls/solutions to provide high-quality products within schedule
• Act as primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments
• Contribute to a people-first culture aligned to Saab values: Trust, Drive, Expertise, Support
• Other projects and tasks as assigned
