Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Technical Writer to join a team fabricating the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk. The role serves as the local SME for technical writing, trains inspectors, and supports NCR/FAI/MRB documentation while ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.

You will develop best practices for technical writing, maintain documentation, and coordinate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Quality or Technical Writing or 3 years in manufacturing quality.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operations.
• Ability to articulate technical product/process requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and train inspectors across shifts.
• Report writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify quality issues and establish corrective actions.
• Develop best practices for technical writing and update as needed.
• Generate NCRs, Inspection/Control Plans, FAIs, MRB dispositions.
• Learn and apply customer/industry quality requirements.
• Provide controls/solutions to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
• Act as primary contact in non-conformance investigations.
• Contribute to Saab’s people-first culture and values.
