Saab West Lafayette in Indiana is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team that supports the T-7A Redhawk program for the U.S. Air Force.

You will serve as the local SME for technical writing, guide inspectors, and help develop best practices across shifts to ensure high-quality documentation. Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline OR 3 years’ related experience in a manufacturing quality role required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required
• Ability to articulate technical product/process requirements for electro‑mechanical assembly
• Interpret and revise documentation for consistency and efficient repetition
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach to problem-solving
• Self-driven and deliver high‑quality results across a global team
• Willingness to work extended hours when needed

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local SME for technical writing and provide guidance/training for inspectors across multiple shifts
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership
• Identify common/repeated quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
• Develop best practices for technical writing throughout the organization; maintain and update best practices as needed
• Responsible for NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions
• Develop strong knowledge of quality requirements per customer/industry standards
• Support quality controls to deliver high-quality products on schedule
• Act as primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments
• Contribute to Saab's people-first culture and core values
• Other projects and tasks as assigned
