Job summary

Saab, Inc. in West Lafayette, IN is seeking Installation Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. You will assemble aircraft structures, train new team members, and contribute to a state-of-the-art production system.

Role emphasizes precision, adherence to ISO/AS9100 quality standards, and hands-on use of powered hand-tools. On-site training provided through Aerospace installation academy; weekend overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience required; aeronautics experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical degree or certification in aviation assembly, mechanics, or aircraft maintenance is a plus.
• Experience delivering high levels of quality in compliance with ISO/AS9100 standards is a plus.
• Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings and specifications in written and digital format is a strong preference.
• Ability to operate appropriate hand tools to achieve quality and efficiency.
• Ability to work with standardized procedures for high repeatability in an advanced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and final fuselage components.
• Train new team members on processes and standards.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.
• Operate powered hand-tools with precision.
• Perform structural assembly including systems, landing gear and harnesses.
• Complete functional and pressure testing of installed systems.
