Job summary

Saab in West Lafayette, IN is hiring 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. The role includes training new team members and contributing to a state‑of‑the‑art production system. Start date anticipated in early December 2026.

Responsibilities include following procedures to achieve 100% quality, performing system installations, and supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and morale. A $23–$25 hourly rate plus a $2 shift premium applies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and perform final assembly on the fuselage.
• Train new team members and contribute to production system improvements.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces and touch-up painting as needed.
• Sign off on completed work per specifications.
• Support knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Foster a productive environment aligned with company values.
