Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. The role includes hands-on assembly, training new teammates, and helping shape Saab's state-of-the-art production system.

Starting hourly rate is $23–$25, with a 3rd shift premium of $2.00 per hour. Candidates must have 2+ years of assembly experience and the ability to read engineering drawings; ISO/AS9100 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration and teamwork.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and install systems according to procedures.
• Meet quality requirements and work with team instructions.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces and touch-up painting as needed.
• Sign off when work meets specifications.
• Help train new employees and transfer knowledge.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
