Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. Roles include assembling aircraft structures, training new team members, and contributing to a state-of-the-art production system.

On-site training is provided through the Aerospace structures training academy; start date in early December 2026. Responsibilities include following procedures to achieve 100% quality, supporting daily continuous improvement, and completing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and follow standardized procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and install systems on the aft fuselage per procedures.
• Train new team members and transfer knowledge in production systems.
• Support continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, cost and delivery.
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting and sign off on completion.
