Job summary

Saab is hiring 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk in West Lafayette, IN. You will train on-site in our Aerospace structures academy and contribute to a state-of-the-art production system.

Requirements include 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience, ability to read technical drawings, and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Shift premium applies and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft fuselage components following standardized procedures.
• Ensure quality per requirements and work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Touch-up painting on Class A surfaces as needed.
• Sign off when work is complete per specification.
• Assist with training and knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Foster a positive, productive work environment aligned with company values.
