Saab is expanding its West Lafayette, IN facility and seeks 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the US Air Force T-7A Red Hawk. You will assemble aircraft structures, mentor new hires, and help implement a state-of-the-art production system. On-site Aerospace structures training academy provides paid training.

Start date early December 2026. Responsibilities include following procedures to ensure quality, supporting continuous improvement, performing functional tests,

Competenze

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

• Execute standardized procedures to deliver 100% quality according to requirements to install systems and final assembly on the aircraft fuselage.
• Deliver work according to quality requirements and work instructions; implement the requirements in daily ways of working in a team-based environment.
• Support daily, incremental continuous improvement highlighting advancement opportunities in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Ability to complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handling of "Class A" surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off when work is complete according to specification.
• Support the training and transfer of knowledge to new employees.
• Contribute to a positive and productive work environment aligned with company values.
