Job summary

Saab is expanding its advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN, and seeks 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. You will train new team members and help define Saab's production system with a focus on quality and safety, starting early December 2026.

Responsibilities include following standardized procedures, assembling systems, improving safety and efficiency, and performing functional tests and surface touch-ups as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specs.
• Able to safely use hand and power tools.
• Must follow standardized procedures and maintain quality.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to stand, perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure per procedures to meet quality specs.
• Install systems and perform final assembly on fuselage sections.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, and cost.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces, including touch-up painting.
• Sign off on completed work per specifications.
• Assist in training new employees and transfer knowledge.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment aligned with Saab values.
