Job summary

Saab is expanding its advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN, seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. These roles include assembling aircraft structures, training new teammates, and contributing to our state-of-the-art production system.

Starting hourly rate is 23–25 USD, plus a 2 USD per hour shift premium. Saab provides on-site training through its aerospace structures academy and offers comprehensive benefits and ongoing career

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft fuselage per procedures
• Train new team members
• Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting
• Sign off when work is complete to specification
• Support training and knowledge transfer to new employees
• Uphold company values and foster a positive work environment
