Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. Roles include assembling aircraft structures, training new team members, and contributing to a state-of-the-art production system.

Starting hourly rate is $23-$25 with a 3rd Shift Premium of $2 per hour; location is on-site with on-the-job training provided through the Aerospace structures academy. Start date targeted for early December 2026.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft fuselage per standard procedures and quality requirements.
• Train new employees and transfer knowledge to team members.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Maintain adherence to procedures and sign off on completed work.
