Job summary

Saab in West Lafayette, IN is hiring 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. You will participate in assembling structures, train new teammates, and contribute to a state-of-the-art production system.

The role offers paid on-site training through our Aerospace structures academy, with an anticipated start in December 2026 and a starting hourly rate of $23–$25 plus a $2 shift premium. Candidates must read drawings and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Execute standardized procedures to deliver 100% quality to install systems and final assembly on the aircraft fuselage.
• Deliver work according to quality requirements and work instructions in a team-based environment.
• Support daily, incremental continuous improvement highlighting opportunities in safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off when work is complete according to specification.
• Support training and knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Contribute to a positive and productive work environment aligned with company values.
