Job summary

Saab seeks 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. You will assemble aircraft structure, train new team members, and participate in a state-of-the-art production system with paid on-site training. Start date anticipated early December 2026.

Compensation starts at $23–$25 per hour with a $2 premium for 3rd shift. Saab emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a production environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft fuselage sections per procedures.
• Train new team members and transfer knowledge.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Sign off when work meets specifications.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Contribute to a positive and productive work environment aligned with company values.
