Job summary

Saab is hiring 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk at our West Lafayette facility. The role includes assembling aircraft structures, training new team members and contributing to Saab's production system through continuous improvement.

Starting hourly rate ranges from $23 to $25, with a $2 shift premium. Offers for U.S. citizens and compliant candidates with a robust benefits package and on-site training are provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Execute standardized procedures to deliver 100% quality for assembling aircraft fuselage.
• Follow quality requirements and work instructions in a team environment.
• Support daily continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off when work is complete per spec.
• Assist in training and knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment aligned with Saab values.
