Job summary

Vast Space Llc. in Long Beach, CA seeks an SMT Test Technician to assist in development, qualification, and acceptance testing for Haven-1 components. The role is full-time, non-exempt, and based in Long Beach, with hands-on duties and close collaboration with engineering.

The position requires 3+ years in testing with electrical experience, strong knowledge of instrumentation, and readiness for overtime. Medical and other benefits are provided, with on-site facilities and meals.

Qualifications

• Has 3+ years of experience in a testing field with electrical experience.
• HS Diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends to support mission milestones.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and travel to Mojave with short notice.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering with test campaigns and instrumentation setup.
• Operate tests under guidance and implement improvements.
• Review test procedures and contribute to DFM/T feedback.
• Troubleshoot DAQ and test setups; resolve issues.
• Support test fixture design and equipment calibration.
• Mentor less experienced teammates.
