Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team developing the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk aircraft for the US Air Force. You will serve as the local SME for technical writing, guiding inspectors across shifts and ensuring high quality documentation.

You will interpret, revise, and generate NCRs, inspection plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions while aligning with customer and industry quality standards.

Qualifications

• Requires AS degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline or 3 years in manufacturing quality.
• Experience in technical writing within manufacturing or quality environments is required.
• Ability to interpret and revise technical documentation and work instructions for consistency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and train inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify recurring quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop best practices for technical writing and update them as needed.
• Prepare Nonconformance Reports, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
