Job summary

Saab is seeking a Technical Writer at its West Lafayette, IN facility to support the production of the T-7A Redhawk rear section. You will serve as the local SME for technical writing and guide inspectors across shifts, driving documentation quality and process improvements while aligning with Saab values.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline OR 3 years’ related experience in a manufacturing quality role required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required.
• Ability to interpret and revise documentation for consistency and efficient repetition.
• Effective and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Self-driven and able to deliver high-quality results across a global team.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local SME for technical writing and provide guidance/training for inspectors across multiple shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify common/repeated quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Develop best practices for technical writing and maintain/update them as needed.
• Handle NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
