Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT seeks a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer II to join the MSEN organization. You will plan and execute design activities, create solid models, and communicate project status to stakeholders, with cross‑discipline collaboration across structural, thermal, and secondary‑flow teams.

Responsibilities include completing design subtasks, performing tolerance analyses, supporting engine builds and teardowns, and presenting technical work to CIPT and discipline

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2 years of relevant design experience.
• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with relevant experience accepted.
• Experience delivering successful mechanical design projects.

Responsibilities

• Complete design subtasks and parts design with minimal guidance, reviewed by SMEs.
• Create solid models and coordinate with Product Definition on release.
• Perform tolerance stacks, part sizing, and standard-work compliance.
• Coordinate cross-discipline handoffs; understand impacts on structural, thermal, and secondary-flow analyses.
• Present technical work to CIPT and discipline chiefs; communicate risks and design decisions.
• Support engine builds, teardowns, and Engine Centers and MRO sites.
