Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT, is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer for the MSEN Structures Team. You will perform structural analysis on military propulsion components to ensure durability and structural integrity across the engine development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, present results to leadership and customers, and apply ANSYS FEA and hand calculations on hardware such as bearing compartments, gearboxes, lube pumps, oil tanks, tubes, mounts,

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience: structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis across all phases of the product life cycle—from design to service support.
• Evaluate MSEN component health during engine validation testing (engine and rig).
• Use finite element analysis and classical methods to assess strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.
• Serve as the Structures representative on multidisciplinary teams and present conclusions to PW leadership and customers.
• Travel: 10% (Domestic and International).
