Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering group seeks a goal-oriented, detail-focused mechanical design engineer to work in the GTF HPC CIPT. The selected candidate will take support and leadership roles in complex tasks, and directly support senior engineers and program managers.

This position requires proven technical capabilities, strong communication skills, self-sufficiency, and the willingness to work with and learn from team members. Onsite in US-CT/MIDDLETOWN.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 8+ years in mechanical design, or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience with hardware, reading blueprints, and manufacturing methods.
• U.S. citizenship required for access to information under the program.

Responsabilités

• Design support across all design-cycle phases including preliminary to detailed design, validation, manufacturing, and service.
• Support HPC components such as Rotors, airfoils, cases, frames, and kinematics for current and future needs.
• Expand repairability and maintainability; collaborate with quality and related departments on test/verification.
• Develop common procedures and standard work to optimize efficiency and quality.
• Design and review layouts, compute stack-up, and perform cost studies to meet objectives and budgets.
• Address design problems of complex scope and ensure drawings are clear and conform to standards.
• Coordinate with other engineering personnel; provide technical leadership on IPTs and train junior engineers.
