Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT, is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer II to support the MSEN organization. You will plan and execute design activities, monitor progress, and communicate project status to stakeholders.

The role involves creating solid models, performing tolerance analyses, coordinating cross‑discipline handoffs, and supporting engine builds and MRO sites. Travel up to 20% is expected; relocation is eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in mechanical design engineering with proven project delivery.
• Strong CAD skills and understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Complete design subtasks and parts design with minimal guidance, driving results to SME reviews.
• Create solid models and coordinate with Product Definition on release.
• Perform tolerance stackups and part sizing analyses per standard work and best practices.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary handoffs affecting structural, thermal, and secondary-flow analyses.
• Present technical work to CIPT and discipline chiefs, communicating risks and design rationales.
• Support engine builds, teardowns, and MRO sites.
