Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX business, is seeking a Principal Design Engineer – Mechanical Systems in East Hartford, CT. You will lead design execution, coordinate with CIPT and IPMT, and ensure timely delivery of complex mechanical solutions for engine systems.

The role requires a strong track record in mechanical design, mentorship of engineers, and proficiency with CAD tools. Onsite work is expected, with relocation eligibility and a focus on engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in mechanical design engineering and delivering successful projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Design Lead and engineering liaison to CIPT, driving design execution and timely technical deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-functional design activities with IPMT, SIPT, and customers to mitigate risks and communicate progress.
• Mentor engineers and coach teams to improve capability and plan resources.
