Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join the Airborne Sensor RF Design team. The role focuses on mechanical packaging, layout, and integration of RF electronics and assemblies for airborne hardware.

You will develop 3D CAD models using CREO, create engineering drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5, and manage configurations in Windchill while collaborating with EE, systems, manufacturing and test teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field by start date.
• Experience with CAD modeling tools and CREO Parametric.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and detailed mechanical designs using CREO.
• Create engineering drawings with GD&T and ensure Windchill configuration accuracy.
• Support packaging, layout, and integration of electronic and mechanical subassemblies.
• Perform tolerance studies and basic structural considerations under guidance.
• Participate in hardware builds, design reviews, and product improvements.
• Support failure investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with EE, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering.
• Document work per program standards.
