Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to lead airborne RF and digital electronics subsystem development from concept to production. You will serve as the mechanical technical authority and mentor junior engineers.

A STEM degree with 7–10+ years of relevant experience, plus experience in electronics packaging for high reliability, GD&T/ASME drawings, and Creo/ProEngineer, is required. Travel 10–20% and onsite work at Goleta are expected.

Qualifications

Degree in STEM with 7–10+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
Electronics packaging for high reliability environments and environmental qualification experience.
Familiarity with GD&T and ASME drawing standards for production hardware.
Experience with 3D solid modeling tools such as Creo/ProEngineer.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design and development of airborne RF and digital electronics subsystems from concept to production.
Act as mechanical technical authority to align with technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Electrical, Systems, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams.
Contribute to proposal efforts and support hardware integration and production readiness activities.
