The Mechanical Engineer I is an important technical contributor to the programs and products supported by the department. Responsibilities involve working together with more senior team members in the mechanical design and delivery of solutions for challenging military and commercial environments. This role involves electronics packaging design. Assignments may involve thermal and structural design and analysis, electrical component design, construction and failure modes, printed wiring board and circuit card assembly processes and best practices, surface mount and through hole component installation processes and failure modes, metal fabrication and finishing methods, RF isolation mechanical design, and environmental test methods and equipment.
The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
