Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support airborne, ground, and tactical platforms in proposal, LRIP, production and support phases. This on-site role requires collaboration with designers, suppliers, PDEs, POLs, MCAD, SCM, PMO, and other disciplines.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field and relevant experience with mechanical components and aerospace applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Experience with mechanical components used in aerospace applications.
• DoD security clearance required to start.

Responsibilities

• Understand program requirements and SOWs to determine component environmental / characteristic application requirements.
• Provide technology insertion and parts selection/standardization guidance while adhering to constraints.
• Generate and revise component drawings and associated verification data packages.
• Perform alternate part investigations and generate comparison matrices showing differences and similarities.
• Interface with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop component risk and verification delineation.
• Facilitate component selection and BOM in a collaboration toolset.
• Present component standardization, design library, obsolescence management and termination finish risk results in design reviews for a program.
