Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join the Airborne Sensor RF Design group in support of mechanical packaging and integration of RF electronics. You will develop 3D CAD models, drawings, and GD&T while using CREO and Windchill in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to program standards. Ideal candidates bring CAD experience, basic GD&T knowledge, and a strong problem‑solving mindset for defense/aerospace

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field by start date.
Exposure to CAD modeling tools (CREO Parametric preferred).
Ability to apply engineering principles to technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Develop 3D CAD models and detailed mechanical designs using CREO.
Create engineering drawings, apply correct GD&T, and ensure configuration accuracy in Windchill.
Support packaging, layout, and integration of electronic and mechanical subassemblies.
Perform tolerance studies and basic structural considerations under guidance from senior engineers.
Participate in hardware builds, design reviews, peer reviews, and product improvements.
Support failure investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including EE, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering.
Document work per program standards.
