Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing system design and implementation for Production/Operations. You will drive quality control, optimize supply chain logistics, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate space vehicle production.

The role emphasizes DFx methods, process validation, and documentation within AS9100/ISO 9001 frameworks, with potential travel and a 2nd shift. A strong background in aerospace manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
• 3+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. (citizenship or residency as required).
• Ability to work second shift and flexibility to move shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support industrialization of new products in areas such as solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), DFA, and DFT for reliable space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate build readiness.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flow, tools, and inspection plans.
• Evaluate new manufacturing technologies and methods (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality and safety standards.
