Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a seasonedMechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join the Operations team in Florida. You will collaborate with engineering on hardware development, guide build processes, and ensure on-time delivery of complex components and tooling.

The role blends design-for-manufacturing insight with hands-on manufacturing participation. Qualifications include a BS in engineering, 8+ years in manufacturing, and strong CAD/GD&T skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, electrical, chemical, or aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years in manufacturing environment for complex products.
• Experience with PLM and MES enterprise products.
• Experience authoring work order instructions, SOPs, process flow maps, or similar.
• Knowledge of machining, welding, coatings, additive manufacturing, inspection, and metrology.
• Ability to plan sequencing of manufacturing processes for complex parts.
• Strong communication and teamwork across geographic distances.
• Proficiency in CAD and GD&T understanding.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams during design, development, and delivery of hardware.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery of complex products and tooling.
• Champion build processes with internal customers and manage manufacturing plans.
• Provide guidance on manufacturing requirements, GD&T, and process sequencing.
• Review engineering drawings and approve manufacturing of complex parts.
• Write work order instructions and outline manufacturing steps.
• Balance detailed specs with streamlined downstream manufacturing.
• Identify key processes and capabilities to meet schedules.
• Define and support repair and rework activities.
• Design tooling and fixtures to ease manufacturing.
• Engineer solutions and manage mid-build updates as required.
• Hands-on contribution to manufacturing and development as needed.
