Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Tooling Focused Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and optimize tooling for aerospace production. You will partner with design, materials, and production teams to ensure tooling integrates with manufacturing workflows and meets performance targets.

The role requires a strong background in advanced manufacturing tooling, aerospace experience, and a passion for space exploration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing tooling.
• Deep understanding of tooling design, fabrication, and metrology.
• Experience with composites, metals, and additive manufacturing.
• Strong SPC, lean, and continuous improvement experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Passion for space exploration and innovative tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, commission, and improve specialized tooling for composite layup, bonding, assembly, and inspection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tooling with workflows.
• Analyze data to propose tooling enhancements and reduce cycle times.
• Develop and validate new tooling concepts and automation.
• Document procedures and train production technicians.
• Stay abreast of tooling innovations and quality standards.
