Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems on the Space Coast, Florida. The role focuses on quality control, process optimization, and supply chain integration for production and operations, supporting a range of aerospace systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, experience in DRFM/DFM, and a commitment to safety and cost efficiency to help Blue Origin build and test

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.
• 3+ years creating English work instructions.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.; relocation available.
• Able to work second shift and extend hours if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support industrialization of new products (solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, structures).
• Contribute to design for manufacturability, assembly, and test for reliable space vehicles.
• Translate requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space builds.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing docs: work instructions, process flows, tooling, inspection plans.
• Evaluate new manufacturing tech and methods (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing).
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for reliability and performance.
• Ensure work aligns with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards for safe operations.
• Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of lines/equipment.
• Identify efficiency gains and cost-reduction opportunities at scale.
• Gain expertise in a specialty area (e.g., solar arrays, integration, build flow).
