Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Survey and Repair Technician I for the Opa Locka, Florida facility. This onsite role performs overhaul, rework, repair, and related operations on aircraft equipment to maintain workflow. Second shift is 2:45pm-11:15pm, with overtime as needed.

Training is provided on first shift for 4–8 weeks. The ideal candidate has a HS diploma (or GED) or vocational training, with preferred Repairman Certificate or A&P license.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or GED) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
• Repairman Certificate or A&P license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect landing gear components for damage.
• Record condition/dimensions to determine repair/overhaul needs per manuals and requirements.
• Assemble fabricated parts or units at floor stations.
• Test and calibrate parts to meet tolerances and specs.
• Use hand and power tools to assemble units as per specs.
• Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair.
• Perform complete operation checkouts, disassembly, repairs, reassembly, test calibrations and diagnosis.
• Follow repair and return processes to ensure high quality and short cycle times.
• Set up repair and test facilities as needed.
• May complete an apprenticeship or training.
