Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled CAD engineer to join the Lunar Permanence team in Florida. You will design, model, and release fluid parts, tubing assemblies, and install CAD data for the Mark 1 vehicle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to place fluids hardware in the vehicle CAD model and ensure compliance with specs and standards.

As part of a team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will help develop the Lunar Transportation system to return humans to the Moon,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
• 4+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency in model generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience working with standard spacecraft thermal components (sensors, heaters, etc.)
• Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world-class engineered products.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing design layouts, creating detail part, assembly, and install models, and releasing data sets using CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• This role will focus heavily on tubing, fittings, and mated connections including welding.
• Applying relevant company (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or Model Based Definition).
• Interfacing with other vehicle subsystem teams to create and place fluids hardware in the vehicle CAD model.
• Reviewing engineering drawing and designs to ensure alignment to established specifications and standards.
• Implementing engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements.
