Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CAD Drafting Engineer to support the Lunar Permanence program, developing spacecraft fluids, structural, avionics, and harness designs. You will create and evolve design layouts, drawings, and datasets, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in CAD design and 2+ years in aerospace; proficiency with Creo Parametric and Windchill; strong GD&T and materials selection

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
• 2+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry
• Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers, etc.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world-class engineered products.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/evolve design layouts, create and maintain detail part and assembly drawings using CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• Support engineering teams in the development with mechanical layout and detail design and drawing for structural, mechanical, fluids and electronic detail parts and assemblies.
• Apply relevant company (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets).
• Implement engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements.
