Job summary

Blue Origin's Lunar Permanence team seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead a drafters and design engineers in CAD model creation, release, and maintenance for the Transfer Stage Vehicle.

The role focuses on building reliable, schedule-aware processes and mentoring engineers while delivering complex aerospace hardware on time and within budget.

You will collaborate with program management, ensure GD&T compliance, and drive continuous improvement across design tools and workflows.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related technical subject area.
• 10+ years directly related experience.
• Experience with CAD (Creo), PLM (Windchill), and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• In depth understanding of CAD modeling and engineering principles.
• Track record of delivering complex products, on schedule and in budget.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of designers in generating, integrating, and releasing CAD models.
• Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor team.
• Develop tools and processes to improve team capability and performance.
• Develop robust plans meeting deliverables and manage to key metrics (technical, schedule, risk).
• Monitor progress, requirements, schedule, deliverables and risks; review change with program management.
• Communicate progress to leadership.
• Utilize engineering and business judgement to ensure the most efficient product is designed, manufactured, procured, tested, qualified, and delivered.
