Job summary

Blue Origin's Lunar Permanence unit in Colorado seeks a CAD Designer to develop and maintain detailed drawings for spacecraft components using Creo and Windchill. The role supports multidisciplinary teams across structural, fluids, avionics, and harness domains to ensure robust, manufacturable designs for lunar transportation systems.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree in CAD, 2+ years in aerospace or related fields, and strong GD&T and release process experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
• 2+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers, etc.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world-class engineered products.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/evolve design layouts, create and maintain detail part and assembly drawings using CAD and PLM tools.
• Support engineering teams in the development with mechanical layout and detail design and drawing for structural, mechanical, fluids and electronic detail parts and assemblies.
• Apply relevant company techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets).
• Implement engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements.
