Job summary

Collins Aerospace's MAU team is seeking a flammability certification engineer to certify commercial seats and related furniture for in-service aircraft. You will work with cross-functional engineering, certification and program management to show compliance with 14 CFR 25 and related standards.

The role requires a STEM degree and FAA-related certification knowledge; US citizenship is required for access to program information. Onsite role with relocation potential is provided.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.
• Bachelor’s degree in specialized FAA disciplines may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Show compliance of seats with federal and industry standards to support seat modifications.
• Work with engineering, certification and program management in a fast-paced environment.
• Conduct testing, analysis and design reviews to show compliance with CFR 14 Part 25 rules.
• Generate and check compliance plans for approvals as an ODA unit member.
• Participate in training to grow talent and process development.
