Job summary

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Flammability Certification Engineer to join our Premium Seating team onsite in Winston-Salem, NC. You will drive FAA certification efforts for aircraft seats and seating components and lead cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and safe, high-quality products.

You will own end-to-end programs, perform design reviews, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with suppliers and OEMs to meet strict standards and timelines.

Qualifications

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
Experience reviewing and approving drawings and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead FAA certification planning and execution for commercial aircraft seats and seating components.
Provide technical leadership in internal design reviews and cross-functional teams.
Own programs end-to-end and manage risk, planning, and report delivery.
Review MRB dispositions and post-certification changes as needed.
Develop and mentor other flammability engineers and ensure regulatory compliance.
