Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a RTX company, seeks a Flammability Certification Engineer to drive FAA certification of seating products for commercial aircraft. This onsite role in Winston-Salem NC focuses on research, planning, and execution of certification processes within the Seating Certification team.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree with 2+ years of experience, knowledge of FAA/EASA rules, and proven cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree.
• FAA requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aeronautical, civil, chemical, textile, or related engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Person for ITAR/EAR access.
• Experience with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Excellence: tackle standard engineering assignments and drive impactful solutions.
• Technical Leadership: lead internal design reviews for the Flammability Certification team.
• Regulatory Compliance: compile FAA certification documentation for OEMs and regulators.
• Innovation and Collaboration: collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
