Job summary

RTX in Louisville, KY is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer I to join a multi-discipline team supporting Shipboard Effectors hardware. You will work on CCAs and electrical subsystems, collaborating with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and other engineering disciplines to resolve production and test issues.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM, experience in analog/digital/mixed signal design, and familiarity with tools like Mentor Graphics,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Experience with Analog, Digital Electronics, Mixed Signal, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components, Digital Signal Processing or PCB design.
• Knowledge of analog, digital, or mixed signal analysis/design
• Radio Frequency (RF) and Electromagnetic coursework and/or laboratory experience
• Knowledge of high-level programming languages, such as: BASIC, C/C++
• Interest in or experience with RF/microwave devices
• Experience with electrical software, such as: Mentor Graphics, DxDesigner, PSPICE, Advanced Design System (ADS)
• Experience with common test equipment, such as: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Logic Analyzers, Network Analyzers, etc.
• Willingness to work in a fast paced environment
• Effective written and spoken communication

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware and process issues down to CCA and component levels
• Resolution of issues on production lines and in testing (including suppliers)
• Failure analysis / root cause determination and corrective action implementation
• Performing analog and digital circuit analysis, and characterizing and modeling electrical signals of electronic subsystems in simulation
• Identifying and instantiating circuit card and subassembly design update
