Job summary

RTX seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer I to join the Shipboard Effectors Department in Louisville, KY. You will design, develop, and support mechanical subsystems for shipboard effects, applying GD&T and CAD best practices throughout the design life cycle.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, experience with Creo, Windchill, and 3D CAD tools, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. This onsite position offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar discipline by start date.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools and interpreting assembly/component drawings.
• GD&T per ANSI Y14.5; Creo for modeling/drawing; Windchill for PDM.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical tasks and resolve complex mechanical design problems for shipboard subsystems.
• Contribute to first article inspections, work instruction reviews, and root-cause investigations.
• Prepare technical analyses and present findings to engineering review boards.
