RTX in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to join the Shipboard Effectors team. You will design, develop, and document mechanical subsystems for defense equipment, coordinating with the engineering lab and suppliers to ensure requirements are met.

The role requires a Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering, up to 12 months of related experience, and strong 3D CAD skills (Creo) with GD&T knowledge. U.S.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or related field.
• 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
• Experience with 3D CAD tools and interpreting assembly drawings.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and document mechanical components and subassemblies for defense systems.
• Support first article inspections, work instruction reviews, and root cause investigations.
• Interface with engineering disciplines and suppliers to develop solutions and resolve issues.
• Prepare technical analyses and present to Engineering Review Boards.
• Provide regular onsite support at the Missile Integration Facility and travel 10–15%.
