Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to join the Shipboard Effectors team. You will work on multi-discipline projects supporting the production of shipboard subsystems, collaborating with engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality across Raytheon and supplier sites.

The role requires an MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 12 months or less of relevant experience, and proficiency with Creo and 3D CAD.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar engineering discipline
• 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience
• Experience with 3D CAD tools (modeling and drawing)
• Experience with interpreting assembly and/or component drawings

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, and production sustainment of mechanical subsystems
• Support first article inspections, work instruction reviews, and material dispositions
• Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, subassemblies, and end items per system requirements
• Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to resolve technical issues
• Regular onsite support at Missile Integration Facility
• Periodic travel to suppliers or other program sites (10–15%)
