Job summary

RTX in the United States is seeking professionals to join the Test Solutions Engineering team at Raytheon in Tucson. You will architect and build software applications and automated test environments for mission-critical defense systems, working across the full lifecycle from lab demos to production testing.

You will design robust tools interfacing with hardware, ensure performance and reliability, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience developing, testing, or integrating software applications using one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, C#, Python, or Visual Basic (VB/VBA/.NET).
• Experience developing, building, and debugging software applications targeting Windows operating systems using the Microsoft Visual Studio integrated development environment (IDE).
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and integrate object-oriented software applications and test software targeting Windows operating platforms.
• Develop and derive system-level software requirements, operational specifications, and architectural designs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software applications to ensure rigorous test accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate software test tools with specialized hardware instrumentation.
• Participate actively in formal design reviews, code peer reviews, and technical defect resolution.
• Work within structured engineering frameworks applying both Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles.
