Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Milling Machinist 1 to join our Melbourne, FL team. The role performs CNC waterjet and milling operations, reads drawings, and collaborates with engineers on diverse aerospace projects. Second shift, 4/10s, with on-site work history in a fast-paced, lab environment.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance. Prior experience in aerospace manufacturing and Mastercam/NX CAM is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Moderate strenuous physical work and lifting up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret level clearance (Citizenship required).
• Experience in aerospace, military, or manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Waterjets and milling machines to perform complex machining operations.
• Interpret blueprints and engineering specifications for precise fabrication.
• Select and align tooling, plan operation sequences, set speeds, feeds and depths of cut.
• Measure and mark dimensions, verify tolerances, and document results.
• Monitor quality using statistical process controls and measurement instruments.
• Collaborate with system engineers, hardware designers, and test engineers.
• Fabricate parts and assemblies using HAAS multi-axis mills.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, organized lab/workspace.
