Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Redondo Beach, CA, is seeking a Milling Machine Machinist 4 for 2nd shift (3:30 PM to 12 AM). You will set up and operate CNC and manual milling equipment to produce complex aerospace hardware, interpret GD&T drawings, and optimize CAM programs.

The ideal candidate will have multi-axis milling experience, strong tooling knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior machinists while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines and related equipment.
• Proficiency with Mastercam, Smartcam, or Gibbs.
• Experience in Swiss-type turning and/or mill-turn operations.
• Experience in multi-axis machining and high-speed machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings / GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines and related equipment.
• Interpret drawings and models with GD&T and verify dimensions.
• Select tooling, set offsets, and optimize CAM programs.
• Mentor junior machinists and apprentices.
• Support continuous improvement and lean practices.
