Job summary

Applied Aerospace & Defense is seeking a CNC Milling Machinist for the 2nd shift to operate vertical and horizontal multi-axis milling machines producing aerospace components. The operator will read job instructions, set up tooling, and ensure parts meet exacting tolerances. Candidates should have at least five years of machining experience, aerospace background, and strong math skills.

Proficiency with measurement tools and reading drawings, plus lean practices, is essential. U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of machining experience.
• Aerospace experience required.
• Ability to work with tight tolerances.
• Lean basics: 5S, setup reduction, TPM.
• Ability to read & interpret machining drawings and programs.

Responsibilities

• Operate vertical and horizontal multi-axis milling machinery as required with supervision.
• Use manual inspection equipment (height stands, micrometers, indicators, dial bores, verniers).
• Read/interpret operation sheets and work instructions.
• Adhere to established policies and standard work.
• Participate in lean process improvements.
• Document and communicate manufacturing performance issues to maintain continuity between shifts and reduce downtime.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment.
• Follow safety policies, rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by Leads, Supervisors and/or Managers.
